Personnel
Malteser AeroMedical ambulance flights are always staffed by a specialised medical team of at least one doctor and one medical assistant. Other medical professionals may be brought in, depending on the patient’s medical needs.

- 31 flight physicians (German specialist physician status + specialist qualification in intensive care medicine) (Malteser)

Training and safety
The doctors and assistants accompanying ambulance flights must be prepared for any medical situation: whether a patient is sick or injured, whether basic or intensive care is needed, whether they are adults, children, or premature babies.
Training is critical for our aeromedical teams and pilots. Malteser AeroMedical and Quick Air have made a joint commitment to provide ongoing training to all personnel connected to deployments.
Flight safety and patient safety are top priorities in the two companies’ cooperation. Malteser AeroMedical is fully integrated into the certified flight operational safety management system.
